New Beginnings, New Destinations: When God Gives You a Push
Life has a way of surprising us. Sometimes, the path we imagine for ourselves feels clear and comfortable… until God shifts the scenery. You might be standing in what you think is your “forever place,” only to realize it was just a rest stop. That nudge you feel? It’s God saying, “It’s time to move.”
New beginnings rarely come wrapped in pretty bows. More often, they arrive disguised as discomfort — a closed door, a loss, a change you didn’t plan for. We sometimes mistake these moments as setbacks, but in reality, they are divine redirections.
Think of it like being on a journey with no GPS. You’re enjoying the view, but God sees a roadblock ahead that you can’t. He knows the exact turn you need to take to get you to your next destination. And sometimes… He doesn’t just suggest the turn — He gently (or not-so-gently) pushes you there.
This “push” can feel like rejection, an unexpected job change, a move to a new city, or the end of a relationship. But in hindsight, we often see that it was actually God clearing the path for something better.
The Bible reminds us:
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11
When God pushes you into a new place, He equips you for it. The skills, strength, and faith you’ve been building in your old season suddenly make sense in the new one. You realize nothing was wasted.
So if you’re feeling unsettled, displaced, or unsure about where you’re headed and lean into the push. Trust that your next destination is already prepared. God is not trying to remove you from something good; He’s moving you toward something greater.
And when you arrive, you’ll look back and see that what felt like a shove was really His loving hand guiding you forward.
