Unseen But Not Unworthy: Finding Strength in God’s Plan

There have been many moments in my life when I’ve felt invisible, unappreciated, and unwanted—like I’ve been fighting battles alone, even while pouring myself into helping others win theirs. It hurts to admit that I’ve never felt truly accepted, not by family, not by so-called friends, not even by those I’ve sacrificed for. The sting of realizing that people I thought were friends didn’t like me is one I wouldn’t wish on anyone.

I’ve often asked myself, Why? I don’t consider myself extraordinary enough to be disliked, but I’ve always tried to be kind and selfless. I’ve given my last to help others. I’ve fought alongside people, supported them in their darkest times, and helped them build businesses, find homes, and secure jobs. Yet, when it’s my turn to need support, I am often met with silence.

Still, I know God is calling me to something greater. Despite the pain, He holds me accountable to show love, even to those who’ve hurt me. It’s not an easy path to walk, but I’ve come to understand that this is where my strength lies—not in receiving love from others, but in being a vessel of His love.

Though my phone often rings only when someone needs something, I’ve come to treasure the strangers and a small handful of my church family who have supported my business and uplifted me. Their kindness reminds me that God will always place the right people in your life, even if they don’t look like what you expected.

There’s no denying that it hurts to feel overlooked. I won’t pretend it doesn’t. But I’ve learned that my worth isn’t determined by the actions or inactions of others. God sees me, even when no one else does. I’ve carried this resilience since I was a little girl, when I first lost someone dear to me—Yvound Williams. Her loss taught me early on that life isn’t always fair, but God’s love is steadfast.

Today, I choose to lean into that love, allowing God to fill the spaces where others’ acceptance used to matter. As I surrender my heart fully to Him, people and their opinions become smaller. They no longer hold the power to define me.

So, to anyone feeling unseen or unappreciated, remember this: You are not alone. God has a plan for your life that isn’t dependent on others’ recognition. You are seen, you are loved, and you are valued by the One who created you. Keep your head up, keep your faith strong, and let God’s love shine through you.

You are enough, and with God, you will always be more than enough.
