Okayyyyy… this What If? card got a littlepersonal today. 👀😂

“What if I love myself unconditionally?”

My first response was:

I do love myself!

But then I had to sit with it for a minute…

Because loving yourself and loving yourself UNCONDITIONALLY are two different things.

Do I still love me when I don’t like what I see in the mirror?

Do I love me when the money isn’t moneying? 😂

Do I love me when I make a mistake?

When somebody doesn’t choose me?

When the business idea doesn’t work?

When I say yes and later realize I should’ve said NO?

When I’m tired, frustrated, emotional, overwhelmed, or simply NOT FEELING IT TODAY?

Because unconditional means there isn’t a list of requirements attached.

And whew… 😮‍💨

💗 Maybe I’ve Been Making Myself Earn My Own Love

Think about that.

Sometimes we’re kinder to everybody else than we are to ourselves.

We’ll tell somebody:

“Give yourself grace.”

Then turn around and talk CRAZY to ourselves. 😂

You should be further along.

You should’ve known better.

You need to lose weight. That is me all day

You messed that up.

Why did you let that happen?

But what if I spoke to myself the way I speak to someone I genuinely love?

Maybe it would sound more like:

Baby, you messed up. Learn from it

You don’t look like you did ten years ago—and that’s okay.

Everybody isn’t going to choose you. Choose yourself anyway.

You’re tired today. Rest. The empire will still be there tomorrow. 😂

You don’t have everything figured out. Keep going anyway.

Loving Myself Doesn’t Mean I Stop Growing

This part is important.

Unconditional self-love isn’t:

“This is just how I am, so everybody has to deal with it.”

Nahhhh. 😂

I can love myself AND correct myself.

I can love myself AND apologize.

I can love myself AND establish boundaries.

I can love myself AND admit when I’m wrong.

I can love myself AND become a better version of myself.

Growth doesn’t require self-hatred.

I don’t have to bully myself into becoming better.

Today’s Mirror Check

Look at yourself today not just physically, but REALLY look at yourself.

The woman/man/person who survived things nobody knows about.

The person who had to start over.

The person who loved people who couldn’t love them properly.

The person who made mistakes.

The person who learned.

The person who is STILL becoming.

Now say:

I don’t have to earn my own love.

Again.

I DON’T HAVE TO EARN MY OWN LOVE.

💕 I deserve my love on my best day.

💕 I deserve my love on my worst day.

💕 I deserve my love while I’m healing.

💕 I deserve my love while I’m growing.

💕 I deserve my love while I’m figuring this thing called LIFE out.

Today’s MedXpressionz Challenge

Do ONE thing today simply because YOU deserve it.

Not because you’ve earned it.

Not because you’ve checked everything off your list.

Not because everybody else is taken care of.

Just because you’re worthy of being cared for too.

Take yourself to lunch.

Buy yourself some flowers.

Turn your phone off for an hour.

Take a nap without feeling guilty. 😂

Say NO without writing a three-page explanation.

Put on something that makes you feel good.

Or simply sit somewhere quietly and tell yourself:

“I’m proud of you.”

NOW IT’S YOUR TURN…

Finish this sentence in the comments:

“If I truly loved myself unconditionally, I would stop __________.”

Don’t run from this one.

And here’s today’s bigger What If?:

WHAT IF THE LOVE YOU KEEP LOOKING FOR FROM EVERYBODY ELSE STARTS WITH THE LOVE YOU GIVE YOURSELF?

Maybe unconditional love isn’t something we’re supposed to spend our whole lives chasing.

Maybe some of it has been waiting inside us the whole time.

Until tomorrow’s What If?…

Love yourself loudly.
Love yourself gently.
Love yourself while you’re growing.
And most importantly love yourself without conditions.
💕✨
